What to Expect During Your Ingrown Nail Pedicure

While every pedicure we offer is unique, we always follow a safe, hygienic, and soothing approach for ingrown nail clients.

Here’s how we help:

1. Soothing Soak – We begin with a warm mineral soak to soften the skin and reduce inflammation. The product used depends on the pedicure you choose (Deluxe, VolcanoSpa, etc.).
2. Nail Evaluation – Your technician will gently assess the area and determine how best to remove ingrown toenails and shape the nail to reduce pressure on the skin.
3. Careful Shaping & Trimming – Nails are trimmed to discourage further growth into the skin. Any sharp edges are carefully filed down.
4. Callus Care – We smooth the heels and any rough spots using exfoliants and pumice, ensuring your feet feel soft and healthy overall.
5. Cuticle & Skin Maintenance – Cuticles are gently pushed back and trimmed only as needed to avoid additional irritation.
6. Exfoliating Scrub & Massage – A sugar scrub exfoliates the legs, followed by a soothing mask and lotion massage to ease tension and promote circulation.
7. Lotion and Hot Towels – We apply a moisturizing lotion and hot towels to soothe and relax your legs and feet.
8. Polish (Optional) – Finish with standard lacquer polish or upgrade to gel (+$10) if desired.
9. Toenail Fungus – If you have toenail fungus, we will finish with tea tree oil. Although it takes a long time to treat fungus with tea tree oil, it is a safe and effective alternative to OTC or prescribed medications.
   • • Clean the nail and surrounding skin first.
     • Apply 1–2 drops of 100% tea tree oil directly to the affected nail.
     • Use a cotton swab or small brush to spread it.
     • Let it fully absorb and dry.
     • Apply once or twice daily.
     • Mild infections may see improvement in 6–12 weeks, while severe infections can take 6 months or longer, depending on how fast the nail grows out and how consistently you apply it.
     • Trim and file the nail regularly to reduce fungal buildup. Be patient and persistent—nail fungus is slow to heal. Avoid using tea tree oil if you develop skin irritation; dilute it with a carrier oil like coconut or olive oil if needed.

Please Note: We do not perform surgical removal of ingrown nails or treat infected toenails. If we notice signs of infection, we will recommend you visit a podiatrist for medical care.
